(01/04/2013) Visit of Professor Mohamad Sawan to the Integrated Circuits Laboratory (LCI) at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC). Within the framework of the Brazilian Science without Borders program, Professor Mohamad Sawan of the Electrical Engineering Department/ Polytechnique Montreal spent a 45-day period as a visiting professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina. Professor Sawan is a prominent researcher who, among many honors and awards, is an IEEE Fellow for contributions to implantable medical devices. During his stay at UFSC he lectured the graduate course Smart Medical Devices, gave a seminar on Brain Machine Interfaces and another on Energy Harvesting. He also had technical discussions with members of the LCI group about Ultra Low-Voltage CMOS Analog Circuits for Energy Harvesting. During his stay in Brazil, professor Sawan also visited the Institute of Informatics/UFRS and the Polytechnic School/USP for presentation of lectures.
